1 parable, 2 stories. The younger son went away and squandered all his wealth. The older son stayed and worked, reluctantly. Both had broken relationships. Both have one appropriate response. “Father, I’m unworthy. Have mercy on me.”
No matter what we’ve done, that’s our only appropriate response too. And the Father has mercy on you! And He continues to have mercy on you!
